Crystal-clear perfection Ospa multi-layer filtration systems

For large facilities such as public pools or hotel swimming areas, filtration systems compliant with DIN 19605 or equivalent standards are required. Ospa multi-layer filtration systems exceed even the stringent water quality requirements of DIN 19643 under all tested operating conditions. This is confirmed by extensive studies conducted by the Hygiene Institute of the Ruhr Area.

Organic contaminants, already mechanically removed through Ospa’s advanced filtration system, no longer require chemical treatment.

Perfect filtration

The additional filter layer made of high-quality hydroantracite S effectively binds unwanted substances, catalytically transforms them, and absorbs dissolved organic matter. This enables the filters to reliably and safely remove odours, tastes, and colour particles from the water, including THMs and combined chlorine, which are responsible for chlorine odours. As a result, less disinfectant is required, and the level of combined chlorine in the pool water is significantly reduced.

Ospa diffuser technology

The quality of a filter system is not only determined by the filter material, grain size, layer height, and filtration speed but also by its internal hydraulics—how water is guided through the filter during filtration and backwashing. Ospa diffuser technology has perfected this internal hydraulic system.

Special fine water distributors, tailored to each filter tank, ensure turbulence-free distribution across the filter surface. This is crucial for consistently excellent filtration quality: the calmer the filter surface, the better the filtration result, avoiding scouring effects.

With Ospa diffuser technology, backwashing becomes more thorough. Even at backwash speeds of up to 50 m/h, there is no material loss. The filter material includes adsorptive activated carbon, quartz filter sand, and three graded support layers of quartz filter gravel.

Long lifespan

The robust Ospa polyester filter tanks are constructed from multilayered hand-laminates using highly chemical-resistant resins and certified by KSW.

By using high-quality plastics for the diffuser system and the self-closing, pressure-water-actuated Ospa hydro-switching valves, you’re ensured maximum corrosion resistance and mechanical durability.
